Free, free, freedom...

Nuestra jornada del martes consiste en un intenso job shadowing en distintas materias como inglés, física y química. En la primera pudimos observar la metodología del profesor como guía de una clase basada en pronunciación y speaking (adjuntamos un vídeo). Sin embargo, en física y química dicha observación nos llevó a la conclusión de que el aprendizaje, una vez más se centra en el trabajo del alumno que casi siempre utiliza soportes informáticos (cada estudiante tiene que llevar su propio portátil a clase). También destacamos la permisividad del uso del móvil durante las horas lectivas en clase, y no siempre con un uso didáctico.

Today we enjoyed an intensive job shadowing in English, Physics and Chemistry. In the first one, the teacher based her lesson on pronuntiation and speaking (see attachment). However, in Physics and Chemistry we could observe that once again learning was based on the students and their computers, not on the teacher (all students take their own laptot to the lessons). We would like to point out our surprise when we saw how students used the mobile phones quite often, and not always as a didactic device.

Descansamos con un breve lunch y retomamos la jornada con una charla por parte de nuestro coordinador Petri Ilmonen sobre los alumnos con necesidades educativas especiales y la atención y apoyo que reciben por parte del sistema educativo finlandés. Las preocupaciones son las mismas, los recursos superiores, contando con un profesor por cada alumno con estas necesidades.

After a break for our lunch we come back to the classroom with Pedri Ilmonen to discuss about students with special needs and the way they are dealt by the Finnish Educational System. The worries are the same, but not the resources, as they have one teacher for each student with these needs.
